As Hate By Numbers heads towards it’s last 4 episodes, let’s take a look back at the previous 96! This week it’s Glad Stone SINGS and other music related Hate by Numbers!!  This week I dig though the Hate by Numbers archive for the times Glad Stone blessed us with his vocals! I’m also including HBN’s related to music!

Let’s start off with episode 12.  Here is one where he’s the object of Miley Cyrus’ affection?  Oh this video is so innocent.

There is a reason why this classic is among the most popular of the HBN’s, it’s episode #39 with the Black Eyed Peas!  Apparently it is perfectly acceptable to rhyme a word with itself.  It is if you are the Black Eyed Peas!

 

In episode #61 he explores the deeply philosophical song “My First Ki$$” featuring Ke$ha.  I was thinking of changing my name to Dian€.  That makes as much sense as Ke$ha!!

 

Here is the powerful song about the nonsense of the ‘Masque at Ground Zero”  Here is episode #63!

 

There was the time that Taylor Swift wrote a song about Glad Stone. She’s really needy!!  Here is episode #84!

 

Of course there was that time when EVERYONE whipped their hair back and forth thanks to Will Smith’s spawn Willow.  Here is Glad Stone pointing out the awesome stuff in Whip My Hair!

We end with a return to the Black Eyed Pea’s Will.I.Am!  His song with Britney attracted the ire and humor of Glad Stone.  I actually like this song.  It’s a silly pop song.  But Glad Stone’s criticism are valid.

I love this album.  Twelve years has helped Ben Folds Five mature.  The lyrics range from introspective to playful.  The harmonies are delightful. Ben Folds really knows how to add the right instrument to make a good song great! Of course the musicianship of Ben, Robert and Darren have matured like a fine wine.  They blend so well together.  This is a fun album. I hope you are inspired to pick it up.

I added Geoff Smith because has been a favorite artist for many years now.  I wanted to end the podcast on a happy note.  The song That’s Gravity seemed to be the perfect ending!

I’m in that picture somewhere! I honestly love being in that Ram Band.  We had band camp this week.  The goal was to learn pre-game and the first half time show.  We got though pre-game and 2 of the 3 songs for half time.  Overall it was a good week. The song of the week is Toccata and Fugue in D Minor by Bach.  This song was featured in Disney’s Fantasia!

In this episode I talk about the different podcasts I listened to this week.  I finally got around to listen to the delightful Janet Varney’s podcast with Yvette Nicole Brown.  It was an uplifting episode.  The main point is that you will receive much rejection in life but you have to keep going.

Over the years my Mom introduced me to many things. In addition to Doctor Who she turned me on to a little known band from Australia called Men At Work. Their song “Who can it be now” was very different from the songs of the day. It was the combination of unique rhythms and brilliant humor that set them apart from the bands of the day. Men At Work were one of the first posters that went up on my bedroom walls.
